I recently changed my electricity connection (BESCOM Supply) from COMMERCIAL to DOMESTIC.We have paid all the due charges and even paid an amount of INR 5,500 without any receipt givenFollowing payment of INR 5,500, now the "Sub Contractor" is demanding additional INR 3,200 as additional amount for the consumed electricity as "Arrears" due to "HIGH CONSUMPTION". Owing to this, our electricity meter has still not been converted to DOMESTIC

A BESCOM’s form for transfer of electrical connections (which you must have submitted to BESCOM) contains very important information viz outstanding arrears must be cleared, the consumer must pay the costs of installation, the consumer must also pay security deposit, fixed charges and advance as fixed by BESCOM.  Payment is made to BESCOM. The sub-contractor cannot demand any money as arrears. BESCOM alone can do so after raising a bill. Please complain to your local BESCOM office about the sub- contractor’s unauthorized demands.

Sir/Madam.I want to do the land registration in Hosur,Tamil nadu. My builder provided details on the stamp paper and registration cost in Demand Draft in favor of sub registrar Hosur. However there is an additional cost which is around 25K in cash, which he mentions to be the cost of legal, document writing and other expenses. Since it is in cash it could be a bribe ?I am worried if this is any legal, should the amount be 25K for the expenses he mentions , Please help I don't want to bribe

Ask the builder to provide the breakup of the additional amount of Rs 25000 that he claims as other expenses. If you are satisfied with his reply then you can consider the next step but do not pay in cash. Builders often collect bribes in this manner and your apprehensions may have a sound foundation. First acquaint yourself with the procedures and learn about guideline value and the stamp duty payable thereon. You will find the information at the Government of Tamil Nadu’s website http://www.tnreginet.net/. The website contains information about guideline value and the stamp duty and registration fees.  Apparently counters have been opened in Sub Registrar’s offices to reply to such queries.

How to deal with the police officer who directly doesn't ask for a bribe but keeps delaying the verification process (for passport) almost to the point of mental harassment?

Posted on December 02, 2016 by Sajid Saleem

You should seek a personal audience with the jurisdictional Deputy Commissioner of police n seek his intervention after giving him all the details. Please be aware that the concerned police officer may not be too pleased with such a step on your part .But one should be prepared to take it in  one's stride.

I live in outskirts of city closer to new bangalore airport. Last night 27 Nov 16, there was echoes of earth festival where they were using loudspeakers even after 10PM, it was noisy, I had informed Rajanukunte SI and asked him to stop. This SI was already inside the party area, taking part in that, when I asked him to stop, he denied to do it and also asked me stop If I can. He was rude and arrogant. How should I approach this incident that next time they stick to 10PM deadline

Posted on November 28, 2016 by Manu N M

Please put down all the particulars in detail in a piece of paper and present it to the Superintendent of police Bangalore rural district for taking action against the concerned. This may ensure that the10 pm deadline is followed .

How your team is going to take actions on a remote government police official?

Posted on November 24, 2016 by Abhinav sukith Gaddam

Firstly advisers to IPAB of Janaagraha do not take action against any erring police or Government officer nor do they have any powers to take action. We refer those complaints with material particulars received in IPAB portal to the concerned senior officer of the Government for taking action and try and follow them up. The police machinery has a system by which irrespective of the remote nature of the location where the police officer is working enquiries can be conducted n action taken provided evidence is available .

Dear Mam/Siri just want to know that what consequences i have to face if i report for a huge bribe regarding recruitment of class -1 officers in a state government exam.

Posted on November 23, 2016 by Deepak Patel

You do not mention the state or the department. In all states recruitment of Class 1 officers is done by the P.S.C. You can make a complaint in writing giving all the information in your possession including documentary and electronic evidence if any to the Chief Secretary or the Lok Ayukta or Anti-Corruption Bureau/Vigilance Commission or all agencies entrusted with investigation of  corruption against the P.S.C.
