31 May 2016, I went to Aaykar Bhavan Chennai. The story is that IT raised a demand for further tax in Sep 2015, which I paid under a wrong head. I then dropped 3 emails to the Assessing officer 16(4) non corporate who never replied. I even raised 2 grievances on the IT website requesting for correction , but I was asked to contact the assessing officer and get it corrected.
So I took time out from work and went to meet the AO. The AO was on leave. The officer who was supposed to be the back up offered 0 help. That was when I met Ms Geetha, who was from a different jurisdiction. She helped me end to end, found the problem (In the major head) from OLTAS, and helped me draft the complaint, all while having her lunch.
She was such a contrast when compared to the officers who were around/ absent.
